    Pointing paving slabs

    Postby acyates » Tue Mar 16, 2010 12:54 pm

Hi, I have just had a eureka moment, and thought I would share it with everyone.

I laid my patio and dry sand and cement mix, in places I bedded them on muck.

I needed to point the gaps to stop weeds growing in them over time, so I bought a pack of piping bags, the sort chef use to decorate cakes with cream. Fill the back with a reasonably wet mix, not too wet though, cut a hole in the bottom about 10-15mm and pipe away. It comes out like a sausage and doesn't mess up the paving. I then used my fingers to tap it into the gap and smooth it out.

So there you have it, cheaper and easier than a mortar gun.
