The Suprima/Suprema range has been the subject of BBC Watchdog reports in 2006 and twice in february 2007. In the 2 weeks between the 2 reports this year 900 members of the public responded to the Watchdog team. Potterton is giving extended maintenance cover to those informed members of the public. To my knowledge, the main problems involve the PCB (printed circuit board), which they did eventually get around to revising, although they admitted to British Gas in 2003 that there was indeed a problem, but the public were not informed, until the BBC investigation.
Contact Potterton Customer relations department, and ask for some goodwill to be extended.
