Potterton LYNX 2 Combie Boiler

by raydee » Thu Feb 26, 2009 3:24 pm

I have a potterton Lynx2 boiler about 14 years old - recently the system pressure drops and the low pressure light comes on - I refill system every 3 days or so
Water is escaping out of the overflow pipe - 1 litre/day
Can you suggest a fix and poss cost

Hi Raydee,

either the PRV valve is shot and/or the exp vessel.
To check EX Vessel - depress the car type valve on it - you should get air NOT water.

If the water is escaping when the pressure gauge is below 3 bar - then replace the pressure relief valve on the boiler.
