Pressure Ratings of Brass Connectors for 15mm Copper Pipes

Post by CamelCase » Mon Mar 06, 2017 7:49 pm

Hello.

I am planning to build an aeroponics tower but am having difficulty reaching any certain conclusions in choosing the appropriate piping connectors in terms of the water pressures they are rated to withstand.

The pump I am going to be using pushes water out at 160psi (11.something bar). Will the standard brass connectors such as http://www.screwfix.com/p/pegler-px46-female-elbow-15-x-25mm/3231g be able to withstand 160psi? What are the rated pressures, if any, for connectors like these?

Thanks in advance!

CamelCase.

For temperatures between -15 and +30 degrees C, expect 20 bar capacity.

This is correct. Good quality fittings in brass of 15mm it will even go up with 25 bars, however none of the manufacturers will want to publish that in order to reduce later claims.
