rad has no return?

by danblue » Thu Nov 15, 2007 2:59 pm

I've posted another message elsewhere and had good advice. Another brain teaser....

A rad that was fitted onto my system (sealed pressurised system with system boiler, 3 floors, no bypass valve, all trv'd) always seems to have air in it, plus the one behind it, which shares the pipework.

i've noticed that when the boiler comes on, the flow and return heat up quickly and at the same rate. All the other rads have one pipe that warms up more quickly than the other.

My installer thinks he was not made a mistake but I wonder if there is no return on the rad, and both are flows.

If that's the case, how would I know? And if that's the case, what is the effect?

thanks for your help
