Removing Limescale From Slate Bathroom Floor Tiles

Post by ski55 » Tue May 20, 2014 5:09 pm

We have a wet room with slate floor tiles and which also has underfloor heating! After less than a year, the tiles have become badly marked with white stains caused presumably by limescale in the water supply. I have tried a variety of proprietary slate cleaning products all to no avail. As soon as the tiles dry out the stains reappear.
Grateful if anyone out there has any ideas how to remedy.
Many thanks

Hi ski55

I would suggest that you try a limescale remover, rather than a slate cleaner. Something from the supermarket like limelite. Failing that an acid brick cleaner may be the answer, but only as a last result.
