removing wall plugs from a tiled wall

Post by andymac » Fri Aug 31, 2007 10:15 pm

Had a soap holder snap off a tiled wall in a shower leaving the wall plugs and the srews in the tiled wall. Not sure how to remove the plugs so i can affix a new soap holder without damaging the tiles. Any suggetions would be greatly apreciated.

Hi andymac,
I'm guessing this is a plastic raw plug?
Two methods to try
1) you can put screw back into the plug, just enough to grip plug and not re-expanding plug behind the tile, then gently pull out with pliers hopefully bring screw and plug out together.

or if that fails

2) Drill it out using smaller bit than hole and clear debris out of hole, a bit messer and a butchers job but it works.
Hope I was helpful and Good luck
