Replacing garage doors for garage to workshop conversion

Hi, new to this forum.Now, I'm wanting to change my single garage into a light duty workshop. As I understand things there is a fair chance if I fit a window with brickwork under I will probably need to reinforce the foundations. My question is, can I have a PVC structure made to measure (as in the up in a day conservatorys built with no foundations ), to replace the garage door? As I see it this would not need any alterations to the existing foundations. Any-one any ideas ? jEFF
