retaining wall

dear sir or madam,needing some advice on building a 20metre long retaining wall in the garden.the height of the wall will be 2metres and needed to know at what measurement would i need to install piers to support a 100mm wall.also needed to know about thickness of foundation and at what measurement would an expansion joint need to be positioned? any advice from anyone would be of great help,cheers matt
