Joins in the cast iron gutters havestarted leaking , read somewhere about a seal. Igot a qoute for 5 joins some new bolts Q = £320 is this reasonable

Sounds a lot of money Lisa. You could replace with new plastic for that kind of money if suitable. Other temp. method is fill in joints with a mastic gun.
