scrach coat

hi there first time one
i am due to have a large garage scratch coated and have the two visible walls finished in brick effect same as house,was wondering would it be ok just to paint the two other walls with masonary paint over the scratch coat,im looking at the scratch coat to seal unseen walls, any one any thoughts money tight thanks in advance
