security light switch wiring

by piper » Sat May 30, 2009 2:35 pm

I have installed a new security light outside my house, it didn't work and when I opened the switch I found that the previous owners had cut the wires in my switch so I could not see which wires to connect.

I have 2 cables coming in to the switch, the first has 3 wires (yellow, blue and red), and the second cable 3 wires (green/yellow, red and black). this red wire is connected to one of the two terminals of my switch. all the others are cut.

Can anyone tell me which of the other wires should be connected to the other terminal and what do I do with the other wires. :D
