Self Adhesive Underlay

by simonk » Wed Sep 12, 2007 7:57 am

Has anybody any experience of using self adhesive underlay (

I spoke to someone at the weekend and they thought it was any easy way to lay tongue and groove flooring without glueing. Does it hold well and not move once laid?

Thanks

Simon

Simon,

I bought self adhesive underlay for my oak floor, and it was not the best choice...

Reason being is that when you lay a wood foor, you need to make sure the joints are tight...

With self adhesive, when the wood is put down, it sticks, and you cannot hammer it together to get a tight joint...

What i did was use the self adhesive unterlay to get the first row in place, then used wood glue to stick the planks of wood together...

Hope that helps

D
