Shower/central heating

by nkm » Tue May 29, 2007 2:16 pm

Hi - can anyone offer me some advice on what shower/heating/water system would be best?

I am in a top floor flat - currently have (well did have) an emersion heater with a cold water tank for bathroom. I had a pump for the shower but this is leaking and has reached the end of its life i've been advised.

The boiler is old and will need replacing at some point. Would i be best to bite the bullet, ditch the water pump and have a combi boiler installed - would this give me enough pressure for a shower? How about an electric shower?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

A shower ran off a combi should have enough pressure, electric showers are good to have, because if there's a problem with the gas mains or the boiler, you will still be able to use hot water from the shower.
