    Tap wont turn off

    Postby simpleton » Sat Feb 09, 2008 8:56 pm

My eldest has recently moved house and brought to my attention that the hot tap in her bathroom will not turn off. Once you have turned it on it wont turn back, you have to keep on turning back and forth until it finally shuts off. I tried to have a look inside it but it looks like its seized up and whoever has had a go before me has chewed the retaining nut up so I cant get a grip with the old adjustables. As i can t get in to find the fault myself Im wondering if anyone else has come across this and what the problem is? Its doesnt drip, just wont turn off properly

    Thanks

Look at the project section "bathroom and kitchen taps". The washer needs replacing and possibly the spindle is sticking.
