Underfloor heating system design

by gilespulman » Wed Oct 17, 2007 2:09 pm

Hi all,

Am project managing a self build for my mother and have decided on underfloor heating, just succesfully installed it in my new kitchen (40sqm) with a simple 3 port manifold and 3 loops of hep pipe, linked into conventional system with a danfoss return temp limiter valve, works a treat. New build is slightly more complicated so looking for professional advice/system design - willing to compensate.

Contact Polyplumb in Doncaster or John Guest Speedfit both companies offer a free of charge design service. You send them a copy of the plans & elevations they do the design and tell you where the goods can be purchased. Also if you book in advance they will send an engineer to guide you through the installation. Unlike Hep they use standard pipe & fittings that the merchant who supplies the equipment (Both companies will only supply through plumbers or builders merchants, they will guide you to the nearest.) can take back surplus equipment (in pack or box quantities) or can supply extra equipment if needed direct from stock.
