    Wettish floorboards

    Postby tumbleweed » Mon Sep 03, 2012 3:34 pm

I am redecorating my living space and as I pulled back the carpet (to the outside of the house, near the bay window) found that the floorboards were damp to the touch underneath the underlay.. Upon further inspection I saw there was lino under the underlay - a little further back into the room - it isn't damp under that it's dry but damp under the underlay atop the lino?! It's the same at the far end of the room which is in the middle of the house.. On checking the front living space the floorboards are dry?! The floorboards are fine and there is no damage to them?!
I have a sub floor level if this could be anything to do with it?!
I am a tad confused at this conundrum..

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated..
    Thanks in advance..

first remove the lino.Check there is adequate ventilation to the floor underneath, clean the airbricks outside and clear any rubbish.
