I've bought a Victorian terraced house. The lounge chimney has now been opened up and swept. It's now been finished with sand/cement render which I believe is fireproof. I'd like to try using a fire basket with logs but am concerned whether it will smoke/emit fumes into the room. The chimneysweep did a smoke test and it was fine, though the lower he held the bomb it did smoke a little in the room. The dimensions of the aperture are H: 100.5cm W: 75cm D:35.5cm. Any help, much appreciated.
