Wiring a light!

Post by Trix » Sun Mar 08, 2009 1:59 pm

I have just re-wired a light and have done it wrong! When i turned the fuse back on, one of the upstairs lights works (first one) but any other light after this does not work.

I connected the wires in the light with one of these

Now i think i know what i did wrong, but am just checking. Since the fuse did not trip i am guessing the wires are in an ok place, and not mixed up. But.

These little terminal blocks i brought are seperate, so i have 2 live wires pushed into one hole and tightened with the screw. Do i need to have the other wires that go to the switch and the next light, in the other side of this?

HOpe that makes sense!

Trix,
You really should have noted which wires went together.
Please get someone in who can help you, your description is not detailed enough for any forum member to safely give you advice.
