I have double balcony doors with a three point locking system, the type where you have lift the handle up to enable locking and unlocking. It is becoming harder and harder to lock and unlock.
At first simply lifting the handle up a bit harder would allow it to be locked or unlocked. As it got worse it needed the handle lifted really hard and knocked with your hip as you turn the key to lock or unlock.
I have tried it with the door open and it is a bit better but it still sticks. I have also noticed if you try it with the door open and push the locking bolt with your thumb when it sticks it does slip back.
Does it need a new licking mechanism?
