Hi all,

After a bit of advice on the best course of action to allow a light fitting to be fitted above our staircase.

I'm hoping for a simple trick of the trade to sort this one if possible.

Basically I need to position something to allow me to stand on it above the stairs to drill into the Truss in the loft. I don't have a issue running the cable nor wiring it up etc, the light itself is fairly heavy and drops about 2.4m from ceiling height.

Suggest you get a 2 part extending ladder the bottom can sit on the higher steps or the top winder and use pads at the top of the ladder to protect the wall.
