Adding switch to (ultra) low voltage downlights

by srobo2 » Fri Oct 24, 2008 6:05 pm

Hi - I am hoping to install low (12v) voltage downlights under a cupboard.

The set I want has a 3 pin plug wired to the transformer which has spaces for the lights to connect to (via the supplies cables)

I do not want to plug and unplug them each time I use them so is it possible to wire in a wall switch between the plug and transformer?

If so do I need to cut the cable and rejoin with a junction box which also has the wall switch wired to it?

Thanks
