Hi dothehouse Assuming you do not wish to add extra insulation you will probably find the younger and grooved chipboard sheets from a DIY store the easiest option. Screw the boards down, do not hammer in nails as this may crack the ceiling below and if you have lathe and plaster ceilings the whole lot may come down. 2/3/4 screws per board is adequate. Regards S
