Hi, Looking for some advice wiring a on off switch with dimmer for a floor lamp.

I have attached a picture of the space for the wiring and a picture from the instructions.

Also here is a picture from an american website so the labelling is slightly different:

The cables i have are twin core just live and neutral and no earth.

I was planning to do the following:

wire the blue & brown from the bulb source to the 2 screws on the right (blue far right, brown next to this).
from the plug lead, wire the brown to the screw on the far left (marked LSW) and the blue to share the screw with the other blue lead on the far right?

Does this sound right??

From my assumptions, what you appear to be saying is would result in a large "Bang"
Could you be more specific please.
The terminals have labels, please state which wire you intend to connect to which (labeled) terminal.
A bigger picture of the wiring diagram would also help.
Also what type and rating of lamp are you intending on using a not all lamps can be dimmed, and not all dimmers can dim all lamps

Hi, thanks for the reply and please excuse my ignorance!

The floor lamp I have will definitely work with this switch if wired correctly.

I was proposing the following:

With the cable from the bulb source:
wire the blue into the screw on far right marked N
wire the brown into the screw next to this marked with arrow and curved line

With the cable going to the plug:

wire the brown into the far left screw marked LSW
wire the blue into the screw on far right marked N (sharing this terminal with the blue lead from the bulb source)

I have attached another image of fig 1 from the instructions.
