Aga header tank moved, now hot water much cooler, why?

by Bento » Tue Dec 22, 2009 10:39 am

Greetings, any suggestions would be welcome.

Recently i moved the hot water header tank, that's part of a gravity fed(aga fired) domestic hot water supply system. The system had worked perfectly for decades. The header tank was located directly above the aga cooker on the next floor up, i moved it one floor further up(to free up space) and it is now 6 feet off centre to the left.
As soon as the pipework was reconnected, the hot water in the storage cylinder was much cooler, it used to be piping hot now just warm.
As far as i know i connected like for like during the move..and cannot understand why the water is now much cooler.

Any ideas?
thanks for reading
