another painting on plaster question!

Post by tonysioux » Sun Jan 20, 2008 4:02 pm

Had my walls plastered last week and the surface looks dry, its a kids bedroom and i need to paint the walls as soon as possible. my questions are
1 is it too soon to paint?
2 is it just as good to use watered down matt emulsion first if i am then
going to finish the walls with coloured matt emulsion, or would it be
better to get the more expensive paint for newly plastered walls.

Thanks

You will need to buy a n emulsion without a vinyl content. Try Mcphersons eclipse from Crown Trade Centre. This will allow the walls to dry underneath and allow them to breathe. It comes in many colours. If you try to put ordinary emulsion on and the plaster is not completely dry underneath it will cause the paint to bubble as the moisture needs to escape.
