Auotmotive paint finish on MDF !?!

Post by jwr » Tue Oct 23, 2007 10:08 pm

im planning on building a storage unit in my lounge out of mdf which i would like to finish by applying automotive car paint to give a high gloss flawless finish , Im going to make the unit out of MDF and am wondering if anyone has attempted to paint MDF with "car paint " . Its a bit of a long shot and i dont see any problems with the paint sticking , but someone out there may say otherwise - any pointers greatfully received .

Painting \mdf with celulose is very common , oil based paints take to long to dry in a work shop also while they are drying they are atracting contamonation and taking up valuble area .
