Backdraft through toilet ventilator in flat

by Talrez » Wed May 26, 2021 12:43 pm

The toilet ventilator in my flat is hooked up to the building's ventilation shaft. The neighbour below us is a smoker and her cigarette smoke enters our toilet through the ventilation fan. I'd much appreciate feedback on what can be done to prevent the smoke from entering our toilet. I understand that a shutter fan may be an option but am unsure if it's the right solution.

Hi tairez
A fan with shutter will improve the problem but pick one with a good shutter system - something like the Airflow Icon range. Alternatively fit a continuous extract fan.
