bathroom halogen

i have just wired in a light above my vanity unit straight from the pull switch.trouble is when i turn the bathroom light off the halogen light comes on,visa versa.could anyone help me with this problem.

you have put your switch wire in l2 (the spare terminal) take it out & put it in l1 with the bathroom switch wire.

I would quess that your pullswitch has no NEUTRAL , the black wire in it is the switch return to the light.
.
If you have joined to that in the pullswitch then
you have put the two lights in series ,
Causing your problem.

The supply cable to the light needs to come from the main light terminals where the LIVE FEED AND NEUTRAL is present, the New light will then work TOTALLY independant from the main light.

If you connect to SWITCHLIVE AND NEUTRAL at the mainlight then ,your NEW light will ONLY work with the main light on

PART P And SAFE ISOLATION AFFECTS THIS WORK As you proberly know.
