ceiling rose problem

by lr38 » Mon Dec 17, 2007 10:42 pm

I'm trying to put up a new large light fitting onto a plaster ceiling rose. The light fitting has a chrome rose which attaches to the plaster rose by means of a metal bracket which I've screwed into the ceiling joist. I can't use the existing plastic ceiling rose as the chrome cover supplied with the light isn't big enough to cover it and I'm wondering how I should wire the light. Should I just use a plastic block connector? Am I able to earth a plastic connector? All contributions gratefully received.

You should be able to use connector strip. Better if you have the room would be to use a proper junction box as it would be completely sealed.
