Celeste Basin Mixer Tap

Post by tecdovlin » Mon Apr 28, 2008 3:13 pm

I cannot remove the brass tap insert to change the washer on the above type tap. I have applied that I whole tap body in the basin starts to move and am concerned that I may damage the basin.Any advice?

Hi

Do not know the particular tap however, apply some WD40 and leave to soak in well, then use some elbow and prepare for the worst. Use the tap body or spout (only if a fixed type) as a lever and ensure a tight fit around the nut.

If the tap is that corroded make a judgement call on whether its cheaper to possible brake the basin or replace the tap. BOL
