Cleaning UPVC Frames Without Scratching Frames

by jamieb3009 » Sun Jul 04, 2021 7:35 pm

Hello,

I had new UPVC windows fitted a couple of months ago and I am looking to clean them for the first time. What is the best way to go about this without scratching the frames? I have been having building work done on the house so the frames have quite a lot of dust on them - how would be best to get this off without rubbing it into the finish? I am thinking of using washing up liquid, hot water and a dash of white vinegar based on what i have read - would anyone recommend anything else?

Are microfibre cloths/towels best for this job?

Thanks.

Hi Jamie3009
Suggest you search online for upvc cleaning solvent, if there is cured cement dust on the frames you may have to use brick cleaner. Check what you are dealing with and seek advice from the window supplier if it is anything but just dirt.
