Our boiler works fine when switched on, however, it makes a loud clicking sound when turned off. It started doing it about a month ago and the clicking only lasted for about a minute after the boiler was turned off. Now it constantly clicks and only stops when we switch the boiler on. This means we have to have the heating on all the time. Could anyone help me?
Turn the fused spur supplying the boiler off, this will isolate all electrics to the boiler, if the clicking continues - it's not mechanical and probably just the boiler and pipes cooling down.
If it stops get a heating engineer out to find the problem.
The clicking sounds like its coming from behind the thermostat switch. It doesn't really sound like a kettle but more like a drilling noise. We're with Homeserve who were supposed to come out yesterday but no one showed up. Typical!
