Closed Central Heating System

Is it possible to freeze the pipes going into a radiator to allow me to take off and replace an old Thermostat and Trycock.
Or is the only option to drain the full system?

YES IT IS POSS , JUST NEED A FREEZE KIT PROB CHEAPER FOR U TO JUST DRAIN DOWN
