Cold Water Storage Tanks

Post by Barry Bunsen » Sun Mar 27, 2011 6:12 pm

Hi
I am involved in fitting a power shower and I want to join 2 CWST

The current CWST is 25 gallons with a single outlet to the hot water cylinder and I want to link a second 25 gallon tank to it. I am not sure of the size and number of the connecting pipes required or the placement of the second outlet to the cold water side of the pump. Help needed here please.

Also I was hoping to run all the new pipework as plastic 15mm converting from 22mm copper where necessary. Is this wise and how would it affect fitting my second outlet from the loft to the cold water side of the pump?

Thanks for your time

Barry Bunsen,
Link the two tanks with 22mm copper and make sure you take the cold feed out of the new tank on the opposite side to the link pipe.
Probably not a good idea to feed a power shower with 15mm pipework but you could always try it and if it doesn't work replace it with 22mm.
end
