Concrete step

Just took wood away from step I have built out of concrete and obviously not done best of jobs as ugly holes in areas of step on the concrete !
Can you tell me how this was caused and how I can now remedy it

fcwoods99,
You did not tamp it in layers as you filled the formwork. Render the step with a sharp sand/concrete mix to correct the problem.
