Connecting new IR Detector/Floodlights

by cueguru » Fri Nov 08, 2019 6:28 pm

Evening Gents.

My old IR detector has four wires connected that come from a grey cable, Blue into N, Red into L, Green/Yellow into E and Yellow into SL. Thinking that SL is for the manual switch override inside?

System has a manual switch in the house to put the floodlight on untimed. I'm guessing that's what is for. Anyway, the new IR detector (Friedland) supplied by an TLC has N, E, L1, L poles. I can guess the colour of wires into the E and N poles from the previous connections to the Smith box (blue to N, Green/Yellow to E) but what about the Red and Yellow wires, which goes to L1 and which goes to L please?

Thanks guys.

Without knowing exactly what does what, and on the assumption both are live, I would reluctantly suggest you make your own choice, and if that does not work, swap the two around.
