Converting a warm air unit to run on Bottled gas

by Danelectro » Mon Jul 18, 2011 11:24 am

Hi everyone,

Does anyone here have any experience of converting a 2001 Johnson and Starley J40 warm air heating unit (No water circuit - Just warm air) to run on Propane Bottles?

I did phone J&S This morning, but they weren't really interested. They do sell a model that runs on Propane, but he didn't want to tell me details of the difference, he just kept saying "we haven't tested that model on Propane"

I know that the burner Jet will be smaller, and possibly the gas valve is different, but what else??

Obviously I won't be doing the work, but I just want to know what's needed.

Any help would be much appreciated
