Copper Cylinder

by Brian1752 » Mon Jul 16, 2012 2:14 pm

Hello Brian here,

I am looking for information on an old copper cylinder manufactured by Uttley Ingham Copper cylinders ltd.

This is installed in a park home. The cylinder is hot water in the lower section with an emmersion heater, there are two pipes comming out of the side connected to the central heating system. The top section is a smaller tank which is fed by cold water mains and stop cock. Insde there is a smaller cylinder which is open topped approximatly 200mm diameter, there is a 15mm pipe comming out of the side which is open and sitting approx. 25mm below the cold water level (I am assuming this is acting as a header tank for the central heating.

Has anybody seen this arrangement before. If so is this the header tank and can a flushing chemical be used in this system to flush the system?

Cheers in advance
