creaking in my stud wall

Post by kyle mckinnon » Fri Feb 04, 2011 1:42 pm

We live in a house that was built in 1985 the stud wall that connects to the external brick wall has started to creak either when the wind blows hard against the external wall or if we go and push against the external wall. Is there anything we can do there is also cracking of the plaster along the ceiling and down the corner of that wall?

kyle mckinnon,
It is worrying that you can produce movement by pushing on the external wall. Get a structural surveyor to have a look and give you an opinion as to how serious this is.
