Damp Patches 4 Weeks After a new DPC

by Ellie19 » Wed Dec 11, 2019 8:10 pm

Hi everyone,
I need a little reassurance, we have had a damp proofer in to look at a wall which is in our under stairs cupboard. The damp was so bad it was getting to the point where the one wall’s plaster was bubbling, and starting to spread to the other side of the wall which is in our kitchen.
The damp proofer used his gadget and said 'it must be rising damp and nothing else'. In one weekend they put a new DPC in , tanked the wall, and rendered. There was damp patches on the one wall after but we figured the DPC is drying and we need to leave it dry. Now 4 weeks later, and any day when it rains heavy the damp patches are worse and there’s more.
I might be worrying over nothing because I am new to rising damp, but I am concerned if we leave this any longer it will ruin the new plaster.
