Do I need a new central heating boiler?

by redmonkey » Mon Jan 04, 2010 7:15 pm

I have a Olympic gas boiler installed 25 years ago but working perfectly in a small flat with five radiators.

The thermostat on the immersion heater is not working the water is boiling hot.
There are individual thermostats on each radiator.

Questions
Would it be better to change the whole central boiler because of the age of the present system?
Or should I just have the thermostat repaired?

Please could I have an experts opinion? Many thanks.

Personally i would get a good service. But if you do decide on a new boiler, there are government grants coming in this year. (Bit like the car trade-in)
