Do you need to install laminate underlay for herringbone laimate?

Post by bebeshok » Thu Feb 10, 2022 1:44 pm

Hi All,

Doing my first house project.

Need to install underlay for laminate flooring herringbone (12mm thickness). What would be the best - plywood or fibreboard and what thickness? I need to level up the floor. Attaching a photo of my underfloor

Also, generally what are the prices for installing laminate? A guy quoted me 1400 for 65 square meter flat (Glasgow)

Hi babeshok,
You need to make sure you floor is flat it doesn’t matter if it’s not level. Check the tolerances specified by the laminate manufacturer and use their recommended underlay.
