Earthing Sanitaryware

Post by helerivera » Mon Aug 13, 2007 7:39 am

Hello,
I am currently in the middle of renovation works at my house. The electrician did not leave a cable for earthing the bath (or sink, for that matter). it is a resin free-standing bath with steel claw feet/support. Is it really necessary to earth the bath?

Many thanks,
helena

HI ,
No, & if all pipes plastic or if all bonded together outside b'room , say in airing cupboard then no need to bond sink pipework either, if still unsure ask your leckie why, i'm sure he will give reasons, ie no 'current-using-equipment' in room,
regards
