External Shared Garage and do I Need to Seal Internal Walls?

Post by robdodd37 » Tue Jan 29, 2019 2:35 pm

Hi all, hoping for some advice. I have an external brick built garage which is shared with my neighbor, divided by an internal block-work wall. a cieling has been installed with timber and plasterboard, dont know about any insulation on the pitched roof. My intention is to have the front half (4.5m) for car storage and the end half for a home gym.
First question is how do i know if the external walls are single or cavity walls? is there an obvious sign. the overall size is about 4x9m per side so a total footprint of 9x8m or so. due to the size i am assuming it is double wall. cavity walled.
Second is do i need to seal the internal walls at all? I dont have a damp issue but the external walls are not sealed as far as i know (not rendered either). the floor has been lined and painted. or can i just carry on as it is. are there any issues if left as it is.
Thanks in advance.
