Extraction venting for new kitchen island

Postby SnailsyB » Tue Mar 01, 2022 10:25 pm

Bought a venting hob for new kitchen island (so no external wall).

It has both recirculating (under base unit and through plinth grill) or external venting options.

My question is this, if I set it to recirculating mode and put the duct through the subfloor attempt there any issues.

The subfloor has a large void and there are brick vents on the external walls. My thinking is that rather than warm air going back into the kitchen in the summer it will be cooler if it goes under the floor.

Hi snailsyb,
Short term your suggestion will be ok. Longer term the condensation under the floor may cause issues with any timbers.
