Extractor Electric Motor Case Welded

by mauroercolini » Mon Feb 24, 2020 5:22 pm

Hi, new to the forum. I hope someone can give me a tip.
I wanted to service my extractor electric motor, as it wouldn't spin anymore, and I cannot take the outer case apart. It's like they've been wleded together. Has anyone seen anything similar?

thank you
Mauro

I have managed to lock the ball shaped sintered bearing and free them on the shaft and re-lubricate them. But often they start to rotate in the housing instead of shaft, and only cure is replace whole motor.

With some thing like a Myson fan assisted radiator it is worth the effort, but with extractors it is not really worth the effort just replace whole thing.

If you mean an extractor fan, the case probably has been ultrasonically welded as they are non serviceable and its cheaper to buy a new one.
