Fitting a new Kitchen Waste Strainer Plug

Post by MollyFinch » Fri Oct 25, 2019 8:59 pm

I'd like to have a kitchen sink strainer waste plug - the kind that has a basket to catch all the bits. The old plug was the kind that you have to twist to make it pop up and it finally broke off. The diameter of the hole in the sink is 5cm or 7cm if I measure to include the depression all round the hole. I've been looking at new kitchen sink strainer plugs and they are described as either 40mm or 32mm diameter. I thought kitchen sink holes were a standard size and am very confused. Can anybody help here?
