Fitting Integrated Washing Machine into Existing Kitchen Cupboard

by Molenpad » Fri Nov 16, 2018 11:18 am

Hi all,

I'm new here so be gently. I'm about to move into a house that has no space for a washing in machine in the kitchen. The previous owner seemed to get her parents to do her laundry by all accounts. When she had the kitchen refitted the cupboard which used to house the integrated washing machine was just replaced with a standard 600mm cupboard. This cupboard is next to the sink, so I'm 100% sure that it would be easy to plumb in a washer again.

I want to buy a new integrated washing machine. How easy will it be to adapt this cupboard to fit it in? Is it a job for a joiner, or can I just remove the internal carcass?

There is a gloss plinth running the length of the cabinets which I assume for integrated appliance, it will just sit behind it, wheras it would have to be cut away for a freestanding one. Is that right?

Many thanks
