Fitting Powerpoint into Stud Wall Opposite Existing Socket

by mheuter » Mon Oct 29, 2018 12:57 pm

Hello, i want to fit a new powerpoint into a false/stud wall in our house. there is already one on the other side of the wall, so i am thinking to pick up the cables required for the new powerpoint from the existing one (so this would be an extension of the existing one). Can I do that or is it a bit more complicated than that ...?

thanks,

Martin

It depends on how it is currently wired, you do not give this information.

If it is on a ring I would split the ring between the old and new sockets, then to restore the ring install a new cable between the old and new socket.
Of course, you would have to prove it is on a ring first.
